What is botulinum toxin?

Better known as Botox®, this protein inhibits the release of acetylcholine, which makes muscles contract. Injected in small doses, it causes temporary and progressive muscle relaxation.

This benchmark anti-aging product is used in aesthetic medicine to:

• Soften forehead wrinkles and crow’s feet
• Relax muscles
• Reduce hyperhidrosis (excess sweating)
• Soften the jaw (bruxism)

Remember that, contrary to popular belief, botulinum toxin is never used to add volume. That’s a job for hyaluronic acid!

Botox is naturally absorbed after 4 – 6 months and presents no danger to the body.
